Olusola empowers indigents, gives scholarship to students

Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kolapo Olusola has given out
financial empowerment to some members of Christ Apostolic Church,
Chapel of Salvation, Ikere-Ekiti.

Presenting the cash to the beneficiary during the church service, Dr.
Olusola said the gesture was in line with the stomach infrastructure
programme of the administration of Governor Ayodele Fayose to cushion
the effect of the current economic hardship in the country.

He explained that the decision was also informed by the need to reach
out to the less privileged as commanded by God, particularly those who
continued to worship the Lord faithfully not minding the economic
challenges confronting them.

The Deputy Governor also promised to upkeep them with monthly stipend
which will reduce the harrowing effect of the economic hardship.

Three Senior Secondary School (SS3) students were also beneficiaries
of the empowerment as Dr. Olusola promised to pay for the WAEC fees of
those 3 students and also give scholarships for their SS3 education if
they pass their on-going Unified/Promotion Examination.

Dr. Olusola admonished the members of the church to continue to serve
God with all sincerity and be prayerful while expressing his optimism
that Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole will definitely overcome the
present economic challenge.

He used the forum to call on the rich and philanthropic individuals
and groups in the society to cultivate the habit of giving and making
meaningful imparts on the people around them, especially the indigents
and vulnerables.

In an interview, some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs. Mayowa
Alofun and Mrs. Grace Oyebola thanked the Deputy Governor for the
gesture with a promise to utilize the money well and also share with
others too in line with his admonition.
